Watching this team play this season has been painful, and no words can describe how the play. Fans can blame Carrick, the coaches, and even the hierarchy, but the fact is that these players need to be blamed for their performance on the pitch.

Last season, after Amorim was sacked, the team performed very well under Carrick, and maybe this is what the team is: a new-coach bounce. This is pathetic, and the team’s mentality is very weak. There are eight  players on this team currently who have had three managers sacked and two interim managers who didn’t want to be there.

These players aren’t good enough to wear the shirt, let alone be at this magnificent club. Fans can keep blaming the Glazers and every coach and manager, but these players are mentally and physically weak. Bruno Fernandes should have been sold when the £100 million came in from Saudi, and Luke Shaw shouldn’t be in the team.

At this point, the club needs a reset so that these players can leave and the owners can sell this club. Carrick will be sacked; that’s inevitable, and the team will have a bounce back, but the next season will end the same way – another manager sacked. When Carrick goes, which he shouldn’t, the club should make a stand and keep him to prove to the players that the club cannot sack managers and coaches every time the team does not perform well.

When Carrick goes, the CEO and Football Director should resign too. The club needs to be sold as well. Manchester United needs to be relegated before the club goes back to where it was; they need the 1970s heartache for the club to go back to their glory days. Changes need to happen, and it starts with the players; pay out their contracts so they can leave the club.
