For now, FIFA will weather the storm and ensure the organization is stabilised, but it will sack Infantino by the end of this year.
The question is who should be the next FIFA president? The typical answer is Aleksander Ceferin or Luis Figo, but both men are not strong enough, and they lack the vision for the organisation. Although Figo is a football person, he lacks charisma to lead the organisation toward a better future. One name people aren’t mentioning is Sir David Beckham.
Beckham has done a lot of football in every league he has gone to, and he has turned the MLS into a global institution by bringing European superstars’ rejects to Inter Miami. The acquisition of Lionel Messi to the MLS is a lucrative business, and Beckham spearheaded this.
Beckham can change FIFA and bring new ideas to the organisation. The FIFA World Cup sells itself, but Beckham can elevate the tournament and increase global viewership. Beckham should be considered for the presidency when Infantino leaves.
